Have you found yourself dealing with an unwanted mice issue? If so you are not alone. According to research, 21 million homes in the United States are infested with mice every single year.

While you may find some comfort knowing you aren’t the only one dealing with this issue, it's still a scary problem you want to deal with as quickly as possible.

To help you get rid of your rodent problem, here are 5 natural methods you can give a try.

Ammonia

Here’s a fun fact I’m sure you didn’t know. When animal urine decomposes, it produces the smell of ammonia. Because of this, anytime a mouse smells the scent of ammonia they run the other way because they think it's coming from a larger animal.

When using ammonia don’t overdo it. Too much can hurt both you and the mice. You should instead sprinkle just a few drops.
Soda

Yes, soda can help get rid of mice. This is because mice are unable to burp. That means the gases from the carbonation are unable to get released. As a result the mouse basically explodes on the inside. Pour a little of your favorite soda into a dish and let the mice sip on it. After a few days your problem should be gone.

Mothballs

Mothballs are the go to product when it comes to getting rid of all sorts of pests. They contain naphthalene which helps to naturally deter mice. Anytime a mothball is ingested or inhaled, it prevents blood cells from carrying oxygen throughout the body.

Chances are you will need to use quite a few mothballs in order for this method to be effective. Please know that mothballs are dangerous and should be kept out of the reach of children.

Tabasco Sauce

Mice do not like tabasco sauce. As a matter of fact, they hate it. When they smell it they run away. The problem is, there is no good way to spread tabasco sauce throughout your home. So for this method you want to stick to the outdoors. Sprinkle it around the outside of your home to stop the mice from coming in.

Cayenne Pepper

While cayenne pepper is great for spicing up food, mice don’t like it. The stinging sensation you get after ingesting it causes big problems for these little pests. If you know where the mice are hiding, sprinkle a little cayenne pepper in the area. It will keep the mice from coming out.

In some cases you may find that no matter what you do, the problem is not going away. If you have tried several natural remedies with no results, it may be time to call your local pest control Rosenberg TX.

They have dealt with these types of situations before and will know exactly what to do. If you notice you have a mice problem, do not wait to contact a professional pest control company. While it may be one mouse right now, if you don’t nip the problem in the bud, it will quickly turn into a full blown infestation.
